The Campaign of Chios was an attempt of the regular Greek army and irregular military units for the liberation of Chios island. Supply and financing of the campaign undertaken by the Committee of Chios. The Greeks in the last months of 1827 were launched simultaneously military operations in Chios, Crete and the eastern and western Greece. This happened because they were very concerned that large areas would remain outside the new configuration under Greek rule, even areas that had revolted and had suffered many hardships during the Greek Revolution.

In 1827 merchants who lived in Syros island sent letters to the Greek government begging them to manage the campaign. They tried to find an other place away from the turkish military. The commitee of Chios sent a letter to their country man, Adamantios Korais asked him to find basic resources (like water and food) for the campaign. The "Ungoverment Committee" ordered Sir Richard Church to tell to Charles Nicolas Fabvier to break free Chios. Firstly, Fabvier didn't act but later Fabvier built an army which was based on people who lived in Chios. In 1827,the soldier's venue was Psara island where 2000 Turkish were there and their captain was Ysuf Pasha. In 18 of October Thomas Cochrane with five different army's and 1000 bombs withdrawled from Greece forever. Moreover, a couple of hours before the ships of Fabvier came to Chios where people who lived there decided that they don't want revolution in their island. But Fabvier entirely turned the siege of Chios. Then Fabvier asked Turkish to quit. Furthermore, Fabvier all the time was asking "The Committee of Chios" to preclusion the Turkish from the sea but they didn't because this costed a lot of money.

Antonio Almeida

Α serious problem that Fabvier was facing was the order from the Admiral Henri de Rigny to quit and leave. Fabvier replied that he only take orders from the greek government which he serves. Fabvier continued to fight the Turkish. In November 5th 1927 he was reinforced by the colonel Antonio Figueira d' Almeida commander of the cavalry. Few days later the Konstantinos Hormovos or Lagoumitzis came to the island in order to explode the walls of the castle. Fabvier didn't retreat raided in Asia Minor coast in order to stop communication and dispatch outfit to the besieged to the fortress of the residents of the opposing areas .So he decided to hit Cesme city n consultation with Kanari who was trying to burn as many ships he could in the Chesme port.He failed due to strong winds. The next day more than 1000 Turks attacked the Greek canon fort of Tourlotis which was guarded by the Greek army. The Turks expanded in more Greek trenches. The second battalion of the tactical army which went there was gunnery Gekas who killed captured and fled many. He also restored some trenches. The Turkish ships in 28 of February 1828 escorted small ships with Turkish soldiers who wanted to land in the island. Fabvier had put in place the whole battalion in suitable positions The Turkish bombed the St Helen.

The Greek army headed to the Cape, in the region of Kokkina. All Greek parts stayed in a nearby deserted island. The next day, the island was evacuated without a loss. Despite the difficulties that occurred, after the retirement of the Greek army there were no persecutions of the inhabitants.
