Ο Χάρι Άλλεν ή Χάρι Λίβινγκστον (1882 - 27 Δεκεμβρίου 1922) ήταν Αμερικανός τρανς άνδρας από τον Βορειοδυτικό Ειρηνικό, ο οποίος ήταν το θέμα της συνεχιζόμενης κάλυψης εφημερίδων από το 1900 έως το 1922. [1] Οι εφημερίδες κάλυπταν τα μικρά εγκλήματα που σχετίζονταν με τη ζωή του στο περιθώριο της κοινωνίας, όπως η πορνεία και τα αδικήματα σχετικά με το αλκοόλ, παρόλο που του δόθηκε δυσανάλογη προσοχή από τα μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης εξαιτίας της σιωπηρής απόρριψης του φύλου που γεννήθηκε και της άρνησής του να ανταποκριθεί στις κοινωνικές απαιτήσεις και να συμπεριφέρεται σύμφωνα με τα γυναικεία πρότυπα. [1] [2] Αυτά τα δημοσιεύματα αναφέρονταν σταθερά σ 'αυτόν με θηλυκές αντωνυμίες και χρησιμοποίησαν το όνομα που του δόθηκε κατα τη γέννησή του, Nell Pickerell, ακόμη και όταν ανέφεραν ότι ο Άλλεν προσβαλόταν από αυτό, και ήταν ειλικρινής στην επιμονή του να μην αποκαλείται με αυτό το όνομα.
