Άορνον

Το Άορνον ήταν μαντείο στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα, ευρισκόμενο στην Θεσπρωτία εντός σπηλαίου γνωστού ως Χαρώνειον άντρον ή χάσμα, από το οποίο και αναδύονταν δηλητηριώδεις ατμοί.^[1] Η ονομασία του σπηλαίου, "Χαρώνειον άντρον", αντικατοπτρίζει την πεποίθηση σύμφωνα με την οποία επρόκειτο για πύλη εισόδου προς τον Άδη, τον ελληνικό Κάτω Κόσμο.^[2] Σε μια εκδοχή του μύθου, ο Ορφέας ταξιδεύει ως το Άορνο προκειμένου να ανακτήσει την σύζυγό του, Ευρυδίκη, από τον Άδη.^[3]
